Special Commissioners

Special Commissioners
A body of civil servants who are specialized tax lawyers appointed by the Lord Chancellor to hear appeals against assessments to income tax, corporation tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax. Hearings are informal and appellants may present their own case or be represented.
